France is reintroducing military service, but this time on a voluntary basis, targeting youth between the ages of 18 and 25.
This initiative comes after the suspension of compulsory military service in 1997, reflecting a new approach to national service.
Recruitment for the program is expected to commence at the beginning of the new academic year, with the official launch set for May 20, 2026.
