A 38-year-old soldier has been indicted on several charges related to allegedly betting on a political operation involving Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

The soldier reportedly used the platform Polymarket to place wagers based on insider information. The charges include one count of wire fraud and one count of an unlawful monetary transaction.

Additionally, the indictment lists three counts of violations of the Commodity Exchange Act. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and the soldier's conviction remains uncertain.
